Issues with ajax controls when upgrading from VS 2005 to VS 2008:
I have developed a website in Visual Studion 2005 (I mean to say DotNet Framework 2.0). I have used ajaxcontroltoolkit and developed ajax enabled website with all the ajax controls (e.g., accordian, asynchronous fileupload, calender extender etc). But I then realized the advantages of DotNet Framework 3.5 , So I just installed VS 2008 and opened my previous project in VS 2008. It asked me to convert to .NET framework 3.5, I just clicked next ->next and completed the conversion.
But then the problem raised with the ajax. Following may be the list of errors you may face when build the project in VS 2008.
A ScriptManager is required on the page to use ASP.NET AJAX Script Components. - error
Unable to cast object of type 'System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingAuthenticationServiceSection' to type 'System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingAuthenticationServiceSection'.
The base class includes the field 'ScriptManager1',

How to deploy ASP.NET website
All the efforts have been made to create a beautiful website at the end of the day. This is good enough to see your output in your local machine (local host). But this is not why the web applications (or websites) are actually meant for. Then, how do you make your website (your personal pages) to the general public. Then you say deploy the website (web application) to a hosting server.
Here comes the difficulty for layman (even, few of us who are familiar with technology) how to approach.
So I decided to post a details explanation with examples and screen shots to explain the same.

Orkut - What is Bom Sabado!
Orkut - What is Bom Sabado!
Orkut has flooded with the Bom Sabado scrap messages from this morning. This is a type of spam (virus) that is been fed into the accounts. It is being looked into by the Orkut team (Google). Please be patient, because almost all the accounts have been affected with this.
Till now there is no evidence that the private information loss / any other mischief by the virus. The patch work is being done so we can wait for 1 or more days to get this problem solved.
Precautions:

This article has the reference to the previous post ORKUT SECURITY TIPS. In the previous article I warned everyone not to run script (Javascripts) in the browsers (In which you opened orkut account) address bar. But still most of our best buddies have done it successfully ;-)
So I need to write this post for them. Try to follow these steps and never execute or run any scripts in the browser window (whatever may be the situation). This even some times deletes your account. In most worst cases the hacker may mis use your account details for illegal purposes (black mailing, sending adult content to your friends in your account)
▪ What we the users can do to stop this ?
→ Report the URLs at http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/
→ Stop script (running javascripts in Orkut).
→ Tell freinds about these scams and to be safe.
→ Delete the auto-generated scam thread in the communities.
▪ What happens when the script runs ?
→ Edit your about me, status and even picture.
→ Send scraps to your friends to run the script.
→ Post threads on the communities you joined.
→ Comment on photos of your friends
→ Send testimonials etc.
▪ I have already run the script. Now what can i do ?
→ Clear cookies and Cache
→ Change your account settings ie, password & security question.
→ Edit your about me, status etc which was changed by the script.
→ Never run any type of scripts again.

Ten most commonly used internet passwords
A data security firm has unveiled the ten most commonly used passwords on the web.
To reach the conclusion, Imperva analysed around 32 million passwords that had been exposed in a recent hack of the RockYou website.
Last year a hacker had breached the site’s company database, gaining access to the unencrypted usernames and passwords of all its 32 million users.
Now, after studying the breach the firm has come up with a list of the most commonly used passwords which website users should avoid, reports The Telegraph.
“Everyone needs to understand what the combination of poor passwords means in today’s world of automated cyber attacks: with only minimal effort, a hacker can gain access to one new account every second-or 1000 accounts every 17 minutes,” said Amichai Shulman, Imperva’s chief technical officer.
“Employees using the same passwords on Facebook that they use in the workplace bring the possibility of compromising enterprise systems with insecure passwords, especially if they are using easy to crack passwords like ‘123456’,” he added.
“The problem has changed very little over the past 20 years. It’s time for everyone to take password security seriously; it’s an important first step in data security,” he said.
The ten most commonly used passwords analysed in the study were:
1. 123456
2. 12345
3. 123456789
4. Password
5. iloveyou
6. princess
7. rockyou
8. 1234567
9. 12345678
10. abc123.

CTRL + C is the most useful action that we use everyday. But, I have found this to be very dangerous with internet explorer and netscape navigator. Because, your clipboard text (which you have copied by pressing CTRL+C on your system) can be easily retrieved by the websites, if they really wish to do so.
Imagine a scenario, when you tried to copy your account number or password or any other personal information on your system, it will be saved (or copied) into the clipboard (temperory buffer in your operating system). Then if you open the website (one who intentionally try to access your personal information, i.e. the hackers) knowingly or unknowingly. Thats is it, they are done with their work. You need not do anything on your own. Your information is copied and they can access the information from the clipboard and use it for illegal activities.
So be very careful my dear friends. This will work in internet explorer and netscape navigator only. This is not possible with google chrome,mozilla firefox or any other browser. Remeber, today the most used browser around the world is internet explorer. So just avoid these kind of attacks and be on safe side.

Due to orkut's open nature, users can unwillingly infect their computers with viruses, spyware, adware, and other unwanted junk. This can result in strange behavior, such as sending unintended scraps to friends that may even infect more viruses. To help prevent this from happening, I recommend the following safe practices:
* Don't click on any link (e.g., free recharge coupon kind of) you suspect to be malicious, even if sent by someone you really trust.
* Never select the "remember me" option when you're using a public or shared computer.
* Scan your computer regularly for viruses, spyware and adware.

* Change your password regularly and keep it secret.
